The Stahls' Baby Cap Platen 2.5" x 3" is a compact specialty platen designed to make heat printing on small baby and infant caps easier and more precise. Its 2.5" x 3" pressing area provides an appropriately sized surface for positioning small graphics while helping decorators achieve consistent pressure during application.
The smaller platen helps isolate the decoration area and keeps bulky seams, stitching, and other raised portions of the cap away from the primary pressing surface. Keeping these obstructions outside the decoration area helps promote more even pressure and proper transfer contact during heat application.
Ideal for small logos, names, initials, monograms, numbers, and other compact designs, the Baby Cap Platen expands the range of specialty headwear that can be decorated with compatible Stahls' and Hotronix® heat press equipment.
The compact platen is especially useful when a standard cap platen provides more surface area than needed for the garment. By matching the platen more closely to the decoration area, operators can better isolate seams and other obstructions that could interfere with consistent pressure.

- Center the baby or infant cap carefully over the platen before positioning the transfer.
- Make sure the decoration fits comfortably within the 2.5" x 3" usable pressing area.
- Keep seams, stitching, and other raised areas away from the decoration area whenever possible.
- Adjust the heat press pressure after installing the smaller platen, as pressure may need to be readjusted when changing from a significantly larger platen.
- Follow the required time, temperature, pressure, and peel instructions for the specific heat transfer material being applied.
- Do not rely on one universal application setting for every transfer material or cap construction.
- Test unfamiliar cap materials and transfers before beginning a full production run.
